Tips to keep Mac safe from Viruses

Tips to keep your Mac safe from Virus Attacks!
Make MAC System more secure and productive
with our tips.
Since the announcement of the Flashback Trojan,
the malware that infects the super safe Macintosh,
the world has gone wild. About 1 % of the entire
Mac OS have been infected. Starting this point,
the internet users that run on Macs began to pay
attention to security issues: from antiviruses to
passwords and antimalwares.
When it comes to Apple computers, there has been
a clear theory spreading all over: no Mac can be
infested. The theory was more or less valid until a
couple of months ago. Once the Flashback Trojan
hysteria started to gain popularity, everybody has
started to ask if Apple didn’t promote a false
statement all this time. My opinion is that Apple
has done a fantastic job so far. Eventually, until the
appearance of the Flashback ‘monster’ no one has
ever complained. Prevention has never killed
anyone, so let’s concentrate on the solutions and
less on criticizing.
To avoid scams and malware, there are a couple
of tricks that can solve your panic thrills. Moreover
if you follow five precise steps, nothing can ‘harm’
your Mac. You can become your own gatekeeper.
Tips to Secure Mac from Viruses
1. Security suit
It might sound a foolish idea because you never
needed one on Mac. Well, it’s time to get one. Like
I said, it’s about preventing. Mac antiviruses are
not capable of high performance, like those who
operate on Windows because no one had any
interest in developing them. Like no threat, no
panic. Right? Most common malwares happen to
bump into your computer while you are
downloading. Around 70% of the top
sites inadvertently distribute malware. You can
download a free antivirus, such as Avast or
Sophos or you can try a trial ( Kaspersky) for
instance. You can set to block the automatic
drive-by downloading. By doing so, each action is
supervised. An antivirus checks your links before
you load them.
2. Lockdown admin priviledges
Usually, you use an admin account. It can be
easily broken, let me tell you. If one aims to harm
you, he will harm you. The best way to solve this
privacy setting is by creating a different account:
non-admin for your daily motion browsing.  You
will use the Admin, only when it’s absolutely
necessary.
3. Software updates
Don’t rush to close your computer when you see
that he loads the update. Make sure you give it
time. Latest versions of the softwares present on
your device can come with security fixes. My
advice is to let them do their job!
4. Get rid of Flash and Java
In case you use your Mac for media, browsing,
social networking and creation, you don’t need
neither Flash, not Java. You can use Apple’s
special creation tools and you avoid with elegance
some of the security problems.
5. Password control
When you run on iOS, you can have a better
control of your passwords. Keychain is a solid
password manager that keeps everything under
padlock. Don’t omit to use strong passwords.
You don’t have to panic that something might
happen to your Mac. Just learn for to ‘play’ with
tricks! Remember that preventing is better than
complaining. Good luck!
